Biography

Me!

I was born in Bourbonnais, Illinois, May 4th, 1983, to Alex and Ruth Reynolds. The Village of Bourbonnais, about 14,000 strong, is somewhat of an urban town, trapped amidst the rural farming communities of Kankakee County. There are three high schools in our tri-city area and I graduated from the biggest of the three, Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School. I was involved in art all throughout high school, as well as other activities. You can even visit the website of my Alma Mater by clicking the link below. I also havea link to the Village of Bourbonnais website if you are interested.
I have also included a page that is a photo album of me, my family, and friends of mine. You can view this album too! Enjoy!

I am currently going into my senior year at Huntington College, in Huntington, Indiana. I am majoring in Art Education with a concentration in all grades, and I am also double minoring in Fine Art and Graphic Design. This year I have two student teaching placements lined up. One in the United States at Salamonie School in Warren Indiana and the other at the American School foundation of Guadalajara, Mexico. I will be teaching K-8th grade art at both schools! I am so excited.

Travel Experiences

I have had many experiences to travel in the twenty years I have had to live on this planet. I went to England and Ireland as a student ambassador with the People to People Student Ambassador Program. I toured Spain with my college and EF Tours. I also had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Utila, Honduras, with my college and CSI, Christian Service International. Traveling this wonderful planet is a passion of mine and I can only dream of seeing as much of it as I can before I leave this place.

I went on a mission trip with my college for spring Break 2004 from March 13th through March 20th. Click here to see pictures from this trip!

This summer of 2004 from July 5th to the 26th I went to the Czech Republic with a group from my church conference. We went there to teach english at a camp for our sister churches. I had the kids group. We had an absolute blast! Click here to see a sampling of pictures from this english camp!

Future Plans

After college graduation I am not very sure of the path that I am going to take. For a few years I think I might enjoy teaching overseas. Then maybe God-willing, settling down in the United States teaching middle school art. Most currently I am feeling the tug or call towards missions. I am not sure what God has in store for me but I know that it is good. I will have a degree in Art Education and two minors, one in Graphic Design, and another in Fine Art when I graduate from this college. My biggest wish is that God would use me to do whatever he pleases. I just don't want to look back and say that I ignored his true calling for my life.

Life at Huntington

My favorite classes here at Huntington College are all of my art classes. The professors that I have the pleasure of working with are very good at pushing me to excel in art. They believe, as do I, that I need a good variety of art courses and knowledge of them to be able to be the best teacher that I can be in the future. Professor Ken Hopper is the one that pushes me the most. I think that is what makes him my favorite teacher, because I know he is thinking of me and my future.
